Jobs, Robots and Protectionism

Is the Internet driving protectionism as a solution to centralized, essentially protectionist problems?

There is a fear that we could all be replaced on the global marketplace, that machine learning replaces the inter-human experience with bubbles and that machines replace jobs with automation.
We know from history that open markets are growth factors, but that change also creates fears that motivates protectionist regulation. Instead it should motivate better education and well-fair reforms.

When regulation is motivated by fear, we risk creating our first mega-corporations. Demand will require what we cannot get from protected markets and border protections where only the larges logistics and product houses can escape with agreements. We risk outsourcing our markets to corporations from protectionism.

How do we save net neutrality, agent based and end-to-end-trusted infrastructures in this?
